A Brief Pause, A Different Rhythm
Dear friends
When I began this newsletter, I committed to showing up here weekly, to think alongside you about craft, culture, and all the quiet, tangled questions of diaspora life. That rhythm has been both grounding and exhilarating. But as the semester deepens, I find myself needing to adjust the pace.
Graduate school has been exciting and demanding in equal measure. Between coursework, research, and the ongoing writing projects I am nurturing, my days have taken on a density that leaves less room for the weekly cadence I had hoped to maintain. Rather than stretch myself thin, I would like to give both my academic work and this newsletter the attention they deserve.
So, for the rest of the semester, I will be shifting to a monthly posting schedule. Think of it less as an absence and more as a recalibration: a chance for me to gather thoughts more slowly, to return each month with essays that are not rushed, but ripened by the time they’ve taken to form.
In the meantime, if you need to reach me, you can always do so by email—I’m only ever a message away. And as the world continues to feel uncertain, I hope you are finding ways not only to care for yourselves but to guide your hearts as well.
I’m grateful, as always, for your presence here. Knowing that these essays have found their way into your inboxes, and hopefully into your thinking lives, sustains me more than I can say.
Until next month,
Tolu
